Kristen Schmidt of the Columbus Alive newspaper did a great little article on women tattoo artists in Columbus, OH. I’m flattered to be featured on the cover and couldn’t be happier with the story. If you aren’t local, you can find the article online HERE!

I had a great weekend in LA seeing the sites and soaking up sun. Thank you to everyone that showed on behalf of the La Luz exhibit. There was an enormous collection of great stuff and the show will be up all month so if you missed it, go have a look!

I’ll be posting announcements and new art projects here, so check back often.

Drop by to see me at La Luz de Jesus at the exhibit opening on March 2nd. I’m very proud to have a few pieces in this show.

The Tattooed Corset

Larissa Boiwka of Wilde Hunt Corsetry, client Tamara Mitchell, and myself have been working on a super secret corset project over the last year and half. It’s done, exceeded all of our expectations, and I’m proud to share the finished product. Click on any image to enlarge, and again to expand even more.

The Tattoo Corset came into being through a unique commission and collaboration between model Tamara Mitchell, artist Kat Marie Moya, and corsetière Larissa Boiwka of Wilde Hunt Corsetry.
Mitchell was a fan of the artistic tattoos of Kat Marie Moya (F14HellKat, The Artful Dodger) but could never decide which design to choose for such a permanent piece of art. Our solution was a collaboration. Why not make a corset of tattooed leather? Moya would create the tattoo artwork and Wilde Hunt Corsetry would create the corset. After much trial and error, we happened upon a process which we believe produced a rather striking, indelible result which closely mimics the look of tattooed skin. The Tattoo Corset features fluid Art Nouveau designs rendered in Moya’s signature razor-sharp linework upon cream colored leather. This piece is a genuine corset for which the pattern was custom drafted to Mitchell’s measurements and fitted through a painstaking multiple mock-up process. The corset is boned with 23 pieces of German steel and it does reduce the wearer’s natural waist measurement.

Residence ~ 11am

The last piece of the AM Cuckoo series is complete.
You may see photos in the Cuckoo album and read about it here: www.cuckooseries.blogspot.com

It took the last piece for me to find my favorite and the most personally rewarding.
Thank you for following along

It appears there was bug with the hosts server, and I have not been receiving emails through my website. I’m not sure how long it has been that way, but we’re all fixed up and the pipeline has been reopened. I’m sorry if anyone has thought I deliberately ignored your messages. I simply was not receiving them. ALL clear!

I have been spending a lot of time updating the Cuckoo series blog site and Facebook page. There are two new Cuckoos, leaving one remaining piece of the AM series. It’s been one incredible journey, and the works have been the glue of my life over the last two years. It’s all coming together, and it feels pretty good.

Available prints will be added to the website here very soon as well. There will be limited edition prints from various projects, including the Cuckoo series. Check back soon for the new addition.
