Residence ~ 11am

The last piece of the AM Cuckoo series is complete.
You may see photos in the Cuckoo album and read about it here: www.cuckooseries.blogspot.com

It took the last piece for me to find my favorite and the most personally rewarding.
Thank you for following along

It appears there was bug with the hosts server, and I have not been receiving emails through my website. I’m not sure how long it has been that way, but we’re all fixed up and the pipeline has been reopened. I’m sorry if anyone has thought I deliberately ignored your messages. I simply was not receiving them. ALL clear!

Exhibit for the Cuckoo series will take place in May 2012!

My two and half year journey is about to present itself in its entirety.
If you’ve been interested in particular pieces or the entire series, now is the time to inquire.

I wish I could articulate what this all means for me personally.
If you know me, you know :)

I have been spending a lot of time updating the Cuckoo series blog site and Facebook page. There are two new Cuckoos, leaving one remaining piece of the AM series. It’s been one incredible journey, and the works have been the glue of my life over the last two years. It’s all coming together, and it feels pretty good.

I’ll be participating in a group exhibit at Schumacher Gallery at Capital University that opens Friday, November 11th from 5-7:30pm and runs through Friday, December 9th.

For location information, please visit their website here: http://www.capital.edu/schumacher/

I’ll have three pieces in this exhibit; “Invasive Species”, “Birth – 4am” (Cuckoo), and “The Resurrection – 10am” (one of two Berlin Cuckoos, and one not yet seen by the public).

Please join me at the opening, as I’ll be available to talk about my work.

“The Banshee; instrument of God”

“The Banshee; instrument of God”
10.5″ x 7″
excerpts from “Songs of Joy and Praise” (songbook c. 1889), lace and silk from grandmothers slip, antique ballerina figurine, dried flowers, pearl tabs, glass vials filled with sand and bone dust of a bird, antique pushpins, gear, African killer bee (in pink cube), wax sealed vials, wax seal stamped with handmade linoleum letter, bones and feathers of a sparrow, antique clock box, encased in glass.

This piece was inspired by a blog I wrote about my experience with the sparrow as it died. That story can be found HERE.
I originally thought it would make it in the last Cuckoo, but this ends up not being the case and now I know why. I suppose it had it’s own story to tell.

Día de los Muertos.

Please check out the website for all info.

Due to this busy season, I am taking tattoo projects little by little.
Please send a message through the form on the contacts page for all tattoo inquiries.

The Cuckoo series continues, and you can stay tuned with its progress through the series blog at www.cuckooseries.blogspot.com

I am now back from Germany and in Chicago until Sunday, July 31st. The trip was a great success, and the blog will continue throughout the process of the Cuckoo series. I will be completing the series by mid to late fall, and making an announcement around that time regarding its formal exhibition.
